EXHIBITION: Verein Berliner Künstler 2025

DE Die mehrteilige Video-Sound-Installation CROWD umfasst drei Arbeiten, die durch
Projektionen des gleichen Videomaterials entstanden sind. Die Installation thematisiert die Auflösung des Individuums in einer Menschenmasse im Spannungsfeld zwischen Einsamkeit und der Sehnsucht, Teil dieser Welt sein und changiert zwischen Hingabe und Überwältigung.

CROWDFACE. (Video) Projektionen auf ein Gesicht, dem Spiegel menschlicher Individualität,
verwandeln seine Züge und Mimik bis zur Unkenntlichkeit und lösen sie auf. Ein rhythmisierter Sound (Michel Lavignon) macht die Unerbittlichkeit dieses Prozesses der Zersetzung auch akustisch erlebbar.

DISSOLUTION. (Video) Das Video zeigt eine unbekleidete Frau, die sich visuell in einer
Menschenmenge auflöst. Die Gestalt der Frau dient als Projektionsfläche und wird vollständig von den sich unablässig bewegenden Menschen wie zersetzt und durchwuchert, ist meistens nur noch als Umriss zu erkennen und wird in der Menge unsichtbar. Öffentliche Nacktheit inmitten einer Menschenmenge wird hier ad absurdum geführt: statt die Nacktheit auszustellen, verdeckt und schützt die Menge die Blöße. Die Frau wirkt wie aufgebahrt und getragen von der Menge und wird so Teil von ihr.

CROWD. (Rauminstallation Video Sound) In einem Nebenraum fällt der Blick auf eine auf dem Boden liegende Figur, die von einer lärmenden Menschenmasse überrollt wird. Die Menschen auf der Figur erinnern an sich bewegende Organe. Das Stimmengewirr verwandelt sich allmählich zu einer bedrohlichen Klangkulisse (Sound: Michel Lavignon). Die Figur am Boden wehrt sich nicht, nimmt das hin und geht vielleicht darin auf.

EN The multi-part video-sound installation CROWD comprises three works created through
projections of the same video material. The installation addresses the dissolution of the individual in a crowd, caught between loneliness and the longing to be part of this world, oscillating between devotion and overwhelm. CROWD. (Spatial Installation Video Sound) In an adjoining room, the viewer falls upon a figure lying on the floor, being crushed by a noisy crowd. The people on the figure resemble moving organs.The babble gradually transforms into a threatening soundscape (sound: Michel Lavignon). The figure on the floor does not resist, accepts it, and perhaps dissolves into it. CROWDFACE. (Video) Projections onto a face, the mirror of human individuality, transform its features and expressions beyond recognition, dissolving them. A rhythmic sound (Michel Lavignon) also makes the relentlessness of this process of disintegration acoustically tangible. DISSOLUTION. (Video) The video shows a naked woman visually dissolving into a crowd. The woman’s figure serves as a projection surface and is completely disintegrated and overgrown by the incessantly moving people, mostly recognizable only as an outline and invisible in the crowd. Public nudity in the midst of a crowd is taken to the extreme here: instead of exhibiting her nakedness, the crowd conceals and protects her nakedness. The woman appears as if she is laid out and carried by the crowd, thus becoming part of it.

FR L’installation vidéo-sonore en plusieurs parties CROWD comprend trois œuvres créées par
projection du même matériel vidéo. L’installation aborde la dissolution de l’individu dans la foule, pris entre la solitude et le désir d’appartenir à ce monde, oscillant entre dévotion et angoisse. CROWD. (Installation spatiale vidéo sonore) Dans une salle adjacente, le spectateur tombe sur une silhouette allongée au sol, écrasée par une foule bruyante. Les personnages représentés sur la figure ressemblent à des organes en mouvement. Ce brouhaha se transforme progressivement en un paysage sonore menaçant (son : Michel Lavignon). La silhouette au sol ne résiste pas, l’accepte et s’y dissout peut-être. CROWDFACE. (Vidéo) Des projections sur un visage, miroir de l’individualité humaine, transforment ses traits et ses expressions au point de les dissoudre. Un son rythmique (Michel Lavignon) rend également tangible acoustiquement l’implacable processus de désintégration. DISSOLUTION. (Vidéo) La vidéo montre une femme nue se dissolvant visuellement dans la foule. La silhouette de la femme sert de surface de projection et est complètement désintégrée et envahie par les personnes en mouvement incessant, la plupart du temps reconnaissables à sa silhouette, invisibles dans la foule. La nudité publique au milieu d’une foule est ici poussée à l’extrême : au lieu d’exhiber sa nudité, la foule la dissimule et la protège. La femme apparaît comme étendue et portée par la foule, devenant ainsi partie intégrante d’elle
